Like any other iDonate page, Crowdfunders can be personalised however you like. Imagery, stories, and progress updates are great ways to make your page stand out, and encourage others to donate.
Here are the options available for editing your Crowdfunder page to make it your own.
How to add your Story to the Page
One of the most important things in crowdfunding is making it clear what the reason for the funding is, where it is going, and how it will be used. While some your donors may come to the page already aware of the situation, others will come to the page with no prior knowledge.
For these people to want to donate, they will need to know more. In your dashboard, click on the Edit Page option in the menu on the left side of the screen. On this menu you'll see a text box labelled 'Tell people why you're fundraising'. This is where you can write a description of what you are raising funds for, and why it is a worthy cause to donate to.
How to add Images
Our research has shown a noticeable difference in donations between pages with images, and pages without images. It helps the legitimacy of your page if there are pictures showing exactly who or what the funds are for. Again, the Edit Page menu in your dashboard is the place to go. Click the Images + Video button at the top of this page to see the options for adding imagery to your page.
We recommend adding a profile picture where possible, to show the donors who they are donating the funds to. The banner image and gallery are great ways to show more of what the Crowdfunder is for. If you are raising funds for new school equipment, post some pictures of what the funds will be for. Is your local park in need of an upgrade? Show the donors how it looks and why their donation is so badly needed.
How to add updates to your Crowdfunder
As you are raising funds, you may want to post updates to the page. Perhaps you have met a certain goal, or broken ground on the project, and want to share the progress that has been made. The dashboard option Post Update is where you want to go.
This will allow you to add a text update, and link an image to it as well. When you post the update, it will appear on your page below the gallery, and any donors who have agreed to be contacted will receive the update in an email. Regular updates will keep the page fresh, and help to encourage new and repeat donors, as they see the progress being made.
