Cause Account Reporting Explained

Cause Account Reporting Explained

All iDonate Cause accounts have access to a comprehensive suite of reporting tools to keep track of every payment, every Fundraiser, and every donation.

Get Started with Reports

To find your Reports, first login to your account and navigate to your dashboard. From here, check the menu on the left side of the screen, you'll find a heading here labelled Reports.

Click this and the reporting options will appear below. Depending on the type of information you need, and how you want to access it, different reporting options will be applicable.

Standard Reports

As the name suggests, these are default report types that you can use to quickly view your data under specific criteria.

Overview by Month and Overview by Year will show you how much was raised per month/year as well as the number of donations made. Click the View icon beside any of the entries here to see a full list of all donations made in that time period. Here you can track down any individual donation made, and view all of the data related to it- donor details, the page it was made on, and anything else related to the donation.

Fundraising Pages gives you a report of all the Fundraiser attached to your Cause. You can quickly see how each page is doing, how much they have raised, and the Events or Teams they are connected to. Use the filters available here to breakdown the data, to view only the Fundraisers from a particular time period, or from a specific event.

Recurring Donations contains the data for all ongoing recurring payments you are receiving from donors. This can be broken down by monthly, quarterly, or annual payments. For further refinement, filters are available here as well.

Payouts are distinct from other reports; rather than being concerned with donations coming in, the data here represents the funds being transferred to your Cause. They are only generated once a payment has been processed and is on the way to your account, so you know that all of the funds shown in the report have been paid out. You can download a statement for each payout, displaying exactly how much was received in that month, and where it came from.

Create Custom Report

For more specific data requirements, the Create Custom Report option is available. By default, this starts out as a report of all donations on the account.

Click the Custom Filter icon to begin refining the report. You can set the date range, the donation source, and choose specific pages to narrow down the data set.

For example, let's say you ran an Event in June, and you want a report for all the donations made during the Event, but only on the main Event page itself. You can set the date range to the month of June, choose the donation source as Event/Team Donation, then choose your Event from the list.

Maybe in July you ran three separate raffles, and you want a report that combines all three into one total. Set your date range, choose Raffles as the donation source, then leave the page selection blank.

Custom reports give you the tools to create exactly the kind of report you need, and break the data down into something manageable.

The Previous Exports option allows you to view any custom report filter settings you have saved, and quickly run the report again. This can be especially time-saving for anyone who needs to run a very specific report on a regular basis.
