Your Cause account has been approved, so what do you do next?
Causes have access to all of the features of iDonate, so your first task is figuring out where to start.
We have some tips on what you should do first, to get your new account up to speed and ready for fundraising.
Customise and Personalise
A brand-new Cause account will have your organisations name, but you'll need to start adding more touches to make it truly your own. This can be done in your admin dashboard, under the Settings heading.
Click on Settings, then Profile to find your customisation options. There are several more headings in this menu, the General Info tab is where you can fill out the basic details of your Cause, including adding social media links which will be appear on your main public page.
An important aspect of personalising your account is imagery, which is where the Images/Video tab comes in. Here you can add your Charity Logo and Cause Banner, which will be shown on your main page and used as the standard images for all subsequent pages tied to the account.
The last section for customising your account here is the Information tab, where you can add descriptions for your Cause which will appear on your public pages.
Link a Stripe Account
Once your Cause account is active, you'll need to add a method for payment transfer. Our payment processor is
Stripe, a world-leading and trusted financial services company.
Due to regulations, iDonate cannot hold and transfer donations directly, so all funds will need to go to a Stripe account. We have a built-in process to assist with this, in the Settings menu of the dashboard you'll see an option labelled Manage Stripe Connect.
From here, you can begin the process of linking an existing Stripe account, or registering a new one. This process should only take about 10 minutes, and will give your organisation a Stripe account with which you can manage your incoming funds. We have a series of guides to assist with this process, which you can find by clicking here.
Once your Stripe account is active and linked to your iDonate account, you are ready to receive payments. Donations will be automatically transferred to your Stripe account, and from there will be transferred to your linked bank account each month, around the 10th.
